I used to buy well known makes of pet food but after reading that the most popular brands are tested on animals (and not in a good way!) I decided to look around for pet food not tested on animals. The internet was helpful and it enabled me to make an informed choice. I always feel it’s good to talk to your dog and give them plenty of praise. A good little trick for when teaching a dog to return when they have started being walked off the leash is to have a little treat for when they return to your call and being rewarded for the positive behaviour encourages your dog to repeat the behaviour. On the flip side if the dog is being over zealous and dragging you along on the walk simply hault to a stop. It’s very important they know you are in charge and this should be taught as early on as possible as for the larger dogs it can be quite overpowering for be dragged along by them.
